ALDA launching entrepreneurial education in schools

On 14 June, ALDA officially launched the Student Talent Bank project, dedicated to Subscribe Past Issues Translate promoting entrepreneurial education in secondary schools among teachers in order to prevent early school leaving, in partnership with six other European organisations (Platon M.E.P.E., European Schoolnet, Inspectoratul Scolar Judetean Iasi, Inqubator Leeuwarden, Eurocrea Merchant, Universidad de Valladolid). The launch event was organised in partnership with the city of Sceaux (France) where it took place. It gathered together local authorities, civil society organisations and general public to exchange knowledge, experience and good practice on entrepreneurship education.

The discussion centred around the different components of entrepreneurial education:

  • how initiatives are being implemented both at European level, such as Student Talent Bank, and at local level, such as Sceaux Valley;
  • why and how to learn “entrepreneurship” and new soft skills at school;
  • online tools and entrepreneurship education to train trainers and introduce civil society in schools.

Student Talent Bank - One step closer to bringing entrepreneurship education in schools!2

 

On the 4th and 5th of June, the ST Bank project partners met in Katerini, Greece, for the second coordination meeting. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the activities progress and to plan the next steps.

Among the others, Iasi County School Inspectorate (ISJI) presented the results of the National Framework Analysis as part of the project research phase. The report analyses Read more the policy context regarding entrepreneurial education in secondary schools.

This study emphasizes the following ideas:

  • Entrepreneurship education is based on developing the students’ competences;
  • Both students and teachers are very interested in entrepreneurial activities;
  • All respondents appreciate the benefits of entrepreneurial education;
  • The entrepreneurial initiatives are not in enough in number.

The latest news from the ST BANK network

THE IXth INTER-UNIVERSITY NETWORK OF GUIDANCE TEACHERS (RIPO) seminar was held on May 24th and 25th in Valladolid (Spain). The poster of the Erasmus+ STUDENT TALENT BANK was presented during this seminar, where the project and the first steps of the project itself were shown to the participants. This network was created in November 2009 and holds an annual meeting. Its main purpose is to build a proper space for debate, experience-sharing and creating a friendly space for university researchers, scholars in educational and professional matters.

In the complex process of the students’ transition from school to work life and adaptation to the specific needs of the labour market, non-formal entrepreneurial education plays an Read more Read more important role, that encourages creativity, initiative, responsibility, leadership and teamwork early in life, completing the potential of formal education. The “Building the City in the School Yard” project, implemented by the “Vasile Alecsandri” High School, together with its partners (Iași County School Inspectorate, Iași County Centre for Resources and Educational Assistance and ”Close to You” Foundation) responds to all these needs and completes formal education, focusing on the cognitive component of the entrepreneurial process with non-formal activities that target the attitudinal component.

Business Planet: How Erasmus gives young entrepreneurs a leg-up in business

Young entrepreneurs often face difficulty establishing a strong business plan and finding effective technical options. Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs helps provide aspiring European Entrepreneurs with the skills necessary to start and/or successfully run a small business in Europe. New entrepreneurs gather and exchange knowledge and business ideas with an experienced entrepreneur, with whom they stay and collaborate for a period of 1 to 6 months.
